Simple Sprinkler Setup
Today I will show you how to set up a simple sprinkler system for your garden. I will be using a Nelson Water Timer and a Gilmour 4-way connector so I can water in different areas of my yard, and still have a standard hose to use for potted plant watering. I prefer the metal variety of four way connectors because they last longer than the plastic ones and they are much more sturdy. I will also be using a Watering Kit that has sprinkler heads that you can place where you need the water. You may want to use some metal stakes to hold down the hose so it does not move around on you. It is a removable system so that when winter comes you do not need to winterize it like a traditional sprinkler system. All you need to do, is coil up the hose and hang it in your shed or garage. Happy watering.
The pricing below is what amazon.com has listed. While I try to keep the expenses low as I am on a tight budget, occasionally the pricing will not be reflective of actual price. for example the Nelson timer is not really $180. Just a tip to help you make sure you are not spending too much.

My Goal
I have been looking for information about growing a garden for the past couple of growing seasons. I was looking for a site that won't just tell you what to do, but actually show you how to do it. I was not successful in finding what I was looking for so I decided to make one of my own. I hope that you find this blog useful and helpful to you in growing your own garden and food supply. I have a personal goal to grow food through the winter this year using a simple hoop house design made from PVC and plastic covering. I plan on building one and video taping the construction and results. Happy planting and growing.
